Children’s Ministries

The Children’s Ministries at Glenwood Baptist believe that a healthy balance of Biblical teaching and fun activity is needed to share Christ with children and their families. We have regular fun outings such as snow tubing, going to the park, trips to the zoo, and a simple open gym. The Children’s Ministry offers opportunities to all children 5th grade and under. We firmly believe Mathew 19:14, where Jesus said “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
During our Sunday morning worship service we have a program called GlenwoodKids. This program is for children that are too old for nursery, but yet still too young to sit out in the service. The age range for GlenwoodKids is 3-6 years old. In GlenwoodKids, they are taught a Bible lesson and then they have some play time. If the weather is nice, we sometimes go outside to play games. This is a very good program that allows parents to be able to listen to God’s message without being distracted.
Girls in Action (GAs) is dedicated to teaching young ladies how to live a mission-oriented lifestyle. Being a missionary is simply about being willing to share Jesus with those around us. We learn about mission work around the globe, pray specifically for the needs, do missions projects, and participate in the work of our church. All the while living out what God has called us to do in Micah 6:8 all for His Glory. We meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.
The Royal Ambassadors are boy’s ages 1st -5th grades. We teach the importance of missions by reading about missionaries all over the world. We build and race RA racers, take occasional outings, and participate in mission activities. The RA’s verse comes from 2 Corinthians 5:20, “We are ambassadors for Christ.”
How young can a child be and still learn Christian Missions concepts? Mission Friends (for boys & girls ages 3-5/6) provides the building blocks of faith and a basic awareness of God’s love for all people. We meet Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm in room 206.
