Getting Involved

What Does It Mean To Be A Christian?

I am so glad you asked that question! A Christian is someone who is becoming more like Christ every day. Fully God and fully man, Jesus came to this earth, lived a perfect life, then died on the cross to pay for everything we did wrong. Three days after his death, Jesus arose from the grave and joined His Father in Heaven. He’s already done everything for our salvation. Our role is to simply surrender our life to Him and follow Him.

So What Do I Do Now?

If you believe that God is leading you to surrender control of your life to Him or if you have any additional questions about all this, we would love to assist you. If you have recently prayed to receive Christ, we want you to know that we are proud of you for making the single greatest decision you will ever make. Feel free to contact us at our office at 864.859.2264 or feel free to contact us at info@glenwoodbaptist.org

How Can I Join?

If you believe that God is leading you to become a member of Glenwood Baptist Church, we are excited for you and happy to welcome you to our church family. Here’s what you need to do next: 1) Schedule a meeting with our Pastor or Deacons to inform us of your intentions. 2) Share your personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ. 3) Come forward after the message during one of our worship services and request membership. You may request membership in 3 ways:

    • Immersion Baptism – For those who have been saved by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
    • Transfer of Membership from another Baptist church
    • Statement of Faith -‐ For those who are saved and have been baptized by immersion after salvation

If you have any questions, please contact the church office at info@glenwoodbaptist.org

Where Can I Serve?

We believe everybody is gifted and talented enough to serve both inside the church and outside the church. Our desire is to help you identify your spiritual gifts and put them to use in a positive and effective way.

If you want to become a part of who we are and what we are doing, we welcome you with open arms and no strings attached. Volunteering is the best way for you to connect with others at Glenwood Baptist. For more information about volunteering and serving, please contact the church office at info@glenwoodbaptist.org

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you passionate about seeing children excited about church? Glenwood Kids has opportunities from interacting directly with kids to behind-the-scenes roles. No matter what gifts or abilities you have, use them to impact children’s lives.
Do you have a desire to be part of impacting the next generation and investing in the lives of our students? Your life and your experiences can have tremendous influence in the life of a student.
Do you love people? Do you desire to be part of creating a lasting first experience for our members and guests at Glenwood? First impression volunteers provide one-on-one conversations or behind-the-scenes support to our guests.
Are you highly motivated, enthusiastic, and do you value excellence? Like the thoughts of working “behind-the-scenes” to help create a smooth-running worship experience each week? Our Worship AV team offers both technical and non-technical opportunities.
At Glenwood, we seek to offer a multi-generational blended worship service. We believe that each of us, whether young or young at heart, can worship side by side as we incorporate both contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns of faith. Worship Team | The Worship Team is comprised of volunteers who have a passion for serving the Lord and the congregation as vocalists or instrumentalists. Our desire is not to perform, but rather to lead the congregation in worship on Sunday mornings. We rehearse weekly on Wednesday Nights.
