Getting Involved

What Does It Mean To Be A Christian?

I am so glad you asked that question! A Christian is someone who is becoming more like Christ every day. It sounds simple, but it is only possible through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Fully God and fully man, Jesus came to this earth, lived a perfect life, then died on the cross to pay for everything we did wrong. Three days after his death, Jesus arose from the grave and joined His Father in Heaven so that we can enjoy like with Him by Loving God, Loving People, Loving Life. He’s already done everything for our salvation. Our role is to simply surrender our life to Him and follow Him.

So What Do I Do Now?

If you believe that God is leading you to surrender control of your life to Him or if you have any additional questions about all this, we would love to assist you. If you have recently prayed to receive Christ, we want you to know that we are proud of you for making the single greatest decision you will ever make.  We also want you to know that we’re committed to helping you go from where you are to where God ultimately desires for you to be. Feel free to contact us at our office at 864.859.2264 or feel free to contact us @ info@glenwoodbaptist.org

How Can I Join?

If you believe that God is leading you to become a member of Glenwood Baptist Church, we are excited for you and happy to welcome you to our church family. Here’s what you need to do next:

1) Schedule a meeting with one of our Pastors or Deacons to inform us of your intentions.

2) Share your personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.

3) Come forward after the message during one of our worship services and request membership.

You may request membership in 3 ways:

      • Baptism -‐ For those who have been saved by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and desire to obey Christ by being scripturally baptized by immersion.

      • Transfer of Membership from another Baptist church -‐ For those who are saved, have been baptized by immersion after salvation, and are members in good standing of another Baptist church which will transfer their membership to Glenwood (we will handle transfer of membership).
      • Statement of Faith -‐ For those who are saved and have been baptized by immersion after salvation but are not members of another Baptist church.

If you have any questions, please contact the church office at info@glenwoodbaptist.org

Where Can I Serve?

We believe everybody is gifted and talented enough to serve both inside the church and outside the church. Our desire is to help you identify your spiritual gifts and put them to use in a positive and effective way.

If you want to become a part of who we are and what we are doing to Reach Easley to Reach the World, we welcome you with open arms and no strings attached. Volunteering is the best way for you to connect with others at Glenwood Baptist.

By joining one of our volunteer ministry teams, you are not just making a difference inside the church, but you are making a difference in the community as well. These volunteer opportunities allow you to build relationships and experience community with others in the Glenwood family.

Becoming A Volunteer is Simple:

1.  Complete a Spiritual Gifts Analysis.

2.  Schedule a Time with one of our Pastors or Lay Leaders to review your Spiritual Gift Analysis and provide you with a brief overview of the areas of service that may interest you.

3.  Connect With A Ministry Leader.
Once you’ve chosen an area of interest, you will be connected to a current leader within that specific area to help assimilate you into that service opportunity.

4.  Commit to Volunteering
At Glenwood, we ask for people to make at least a one-year commitment in their volunteer efforts. After that initial year is up, you may choose to continue in that role, try something different, or take a break from volunteering.

For more information about volunteering and serving, please contact the church office at info@glenwoodbaptist.org

Life Groups @ Glenwood

LifeGroups Are Your Opportunity to Connect With People! Our LifeGroups provide you a small group experience that will help you grow in Christ through community!

The early church placed a high-value on doing life together in small groups. God blessed their commitment to Christ and one another in community.

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul…And all who believed were together and had all things in common….And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”   Acts 2:42-47

We do this by meeting in homes during the week to focus on a specific study or discuss how to apply one of the Bible messages from Sunday to our everyday life. Our groups are varied. Some are focused on a season of life, some offer childcare, some are purposefully mixed in ages, but all LifeGroups have the purpose of growing you as a follower of Jesus in the context of loving relationships.

Our LifeGroups will help you GROW as a Christ-follower through authentic biblical community! As a result of participating in one of our LifeGroups, you will experience:

A Closer Connection to Christ: Grow in your intimacy with God through Christ as you are Word-fed and Spirit-led.

A Deeper Community with Others: Grow in authentic community with other believers and group members.

A Greater Commitment to the Church: Grow in your ministry with our church family.

An Expanding Circle for the Lost: Grow in your influence with unbelievers.

Our LifeGroups are structured in a way that allows for flexibility and authenticity. For current locations and more information about joining one, please contact the church office at info@glenwoodbaptist.org
